The Wines of Chablis A Comprehensive Guide to the World's Most Famous White Wine

Montmains

Montmains in all its forms is one vineyard where you are very likely to see not only its name, but its subclimats as well, on bottles often. Montmains always has a certain strength both on the palate and the nose. It has aromas of roasted nuts, white flowers and fresh fruit (apricots are very common). It has a rich palate (owing to a more clay-rich soil) with racy underlying acidity. It is deep yet lively and is arguably the height of Chablis from the left bank of the Serein. Montmains primary sous-climats are Butteaux and Forets.
