Christian Moreau 2003 Chablis Premier Cru Vaillons
Classic nose of slate and green apples with bracing acidity and power. *** ...
The vineyard faces southeast and its slope parallels that of neighboring Montmains. It is a dry wine with good acidity and a firm mineral backbone. It has lemon scents, hints of wild greens and a pronounced flintiness. It is made up of an entourage of subclimats, so pinning down one style is difficult although a sharp green apple palate and pronounced minerality are common. Vaillons includes the subclimats les Lys, les Epinottes, Secher, Chatains, Beugnons, Roncieres and Melinots.
